Exporting Layout DXL to Word

I have a layout dxl column using the diff function to show deltas. When I export it to Word (Word 2007--either as an export to RTF or Word), the color associated with strikeouts and new text does not show up in the export. When someone else exports the colors are exported but not consistently. Are RTF colors supposed to carry over from the layout DXL into MS Word?

Thanks in advance,

You will need to have a solid understanding of the RTF standard and RTF control words as to why this isn't working.

I have come across this problem as well and have a VBA script that you can run in MSWord to apply colors to text that has had the strike-through (red) and single underlined (blue) properties applied to them. Gave it a quick try, still works, but still try it yourself on a copy, it's not my VBA script but can't recall who the author was to give credit.

Sub AddColor()

    Selection.Find.ClearFormatting
    Selection.Find.Replacement.ClearFormatting
    With Selection.Find
        .Text = ""
        .Font.StrikeThrough = True
        .Replacement.Text = ""
        .Replacement.Font.StrikeThrough = True
        .Replacement.Font.Color = wdColorRed
        .Forward = True
        .Wrap = wdFindContinue
        .Format = True
        .MatchCase = False
        .MatchWholeWord = False
        .MatchWildcards = False
        .MatchSoundsLike = False
        .MatchAllWordForms = False
    End With

    Selection.Find.Execute Replace:=wdReplaceAll
    Selection.Find.ClearFormatting
    Selection.Find.Replacement.ClearFormatting
    With Selection.Find
        .Text = ""
        .Font.Underline = wdUnderlineSingle
        .Replacement.Text = ""
        .Replacement.Font.Underline = wdUnderlineSingle
        .Replacement.Font.Color = wdColorBlue
        .Forward = True
        .Wrap = wdFindContinue
        .Format = True
        .MatchCase = False
        .MatchWholeWord = False
        .MatchWildcards = False
        .MatchSoundsLike = False
        .MatchAllWordForms = False
    End With

    Selection.Find.Execute Replace:=wdReplaceAll
    With ActiveDocument.PageSetup
        .Orientation = wdOrientLandscape
        .PageWidth = InchesToPoints(17)
        .PageHeight = InchesToPoints(11)
    End With

End Sub

Thanks Paul and Mathias!

I tried the VBA script and it works like a charm.

Mathias: I went through the other threads and it seems the setRichWithColour function is for building an exporter? We just want to use the standard Word Exporter or RTF Exporter. Is that not an option then?

Thanks again for the great info!
